This event is built around ceremony, so you are only charged for expenses, which includes a donation to the Lakota Pine Ridge reservation (teaching source). The costs includes food, wood etc, travel for the staff volunteers and infrastructure costs. We are also looking for people to be part of the holding community, which uses 8-Shields ‘cultural techniques’ to create a connected community. Our aim is to grow the number and build capacity of fire tenders that are also able to hold a sacred space. The Fire Quest is a beautiful way to take part in a short ‘vision’ type quest a time to focus on a particular question or area of your life you’d like to gain more clarity on and to come into greater alignment with your true purpose. The invitation is to fast during that time. The Fire Quest will take place from sunrise Friday to sunrise Saturday, preparing in the daytime, sitting out at night tending your own fire. It will be held as a community fire for our little village, keeping watch for our fire questers. ![]() The Sacred Fire ceremony originates from the Odawa people of the Great Lakes region and will be held from sunset Friday until early morning Saturday. This is a great opportunity to experience regenerative culture. We create a little village for just a few days, around the hearth, with good food, story, song and ceremony, each playing our unique part. The central event is an overnight community-held Sacred Fire ceremony to support a fire quest. A way to build connection with yourself, fire, nature and community to help c reate a future worth leaving behind
